Automatic Flow Frames for Langstroth and FLOWing HIVE

With FLOWing HIVE frames, you won´t disturb the bees during honey harvesting, as you can extract honey without opening them. Simply turn the handle to disrupt the cell position on the Flow frame, and gravity will cause the honey to flow down into the prepared containers. After harvesting, return the cells to their original position with the handle, and the bees will begin refilling them with honey.

FLOWing HIVE frames are transparent, allowing you to see when to open the taps and collect honey. Each frame can yield up to 4kg of honey, and a full hive can yield up to 28kg. During the season, you can have a full honey super in as little as a week. Of course, this depends on the quality and strength of the bee colony and the amount of nectar flow.

Manufacturing a super for FLOWing HIVE frames:

The frames are sized to fit within a Langstroth super with internal dimensions of length 465 x width 362 x height 245 mm. Instructions for modification are provided in the user manual.

How does it work?

It´s essential to always separate the honey super from the brood chamber with a queen excluder to prevent the queen from laying eggs in the FLOWing HIVE frames.
The queen excluder must always be placed on top of the brood chamber.

To encourage bees to accept the honey super, it should be brushed with a sugar solution in a ratio of 2:3 water to sugar. Bees will coat the cells with wax and begin filling them with honey. Once the cells are capped, simply turn the handle to allow the honey to flow into the prepared jars.

After the final extraction, remove the FLOWing HIVE honey super. Soak any remaining honey in water. Remove the frames from the honey residues. Do not wash the wax from the frames; it aids in better acceptance by the bees in the next season. Use this sweetened water with a sugar solution for winter feeding. Store Flow frames in a dry place at a temperature of +5 to +25°C during the winter season.
